Stetzer subversive kingdom2/13/2024 ![]() ![]() From that point on, the name “Ed Stetzer” equated with “pastor thief”… despite the role of the Holy Spirit, God’s plan and all that. The only barrier I’ve experienced to his voice having maximum influence was a church he was serving as an interim pastor, over a period of time, called our pastor to their church. That built the bridge to some of this other works, including his blog. I had previously read Transformational Church he co-wrote with Thom Rainer. Stetzer is a guy I’ve liked reading in the past. ![]() Today, I give you Subversive Kingdom by Ed Stetzer. Practical ways this book has affected my thoughts, words or actions….I want to answer the following questions: What I want to present to you is some thoughts I read and why they stood out to me as a follower of Christ or as a leader. My intent isn’t to restate what has already been written. You can read the book description on Amazon yourself. So what I’ll do occasionally is present to you either what I’m currently reading (as in today’s post) or what I have read that has had influence in my mind, my words and my actions.Īnd I’m not reviewing books in the traditional manner. I connect best with those writers who satirically or sarcastically drive home their points… but there’s not too many authors who seem to write this way. Some of the things I read deal with leadership (I’m responsible for leading a dozen people at work, my Sunday School department and my family). Some of the things I read challenge how I see and relate to God in practical ways. I prefer to have my mind stimulated by reading than have my head play tug-of-war with my own thoughts… that’s a quick game with no clear champion. I go through spells where I’m either reading a lot or I’m reading nothing. From time to time, I’ll quote something on Twitter from what I’m reading. ![]()
